P1(a) Treatment
For Unit 41, we are going to film a short movie. I have decided to work with my classmate Anna Udras.
Meaning: The meaning of Treatment is an engaging synopsis of your idea or story but a longer length with 2-3 pages.
Purpose: The purpose of the treatment is to brainstorm and put all the ideas together in order to have a clearer sense of what the video is going to be, in terms of the title, medium, running time, synopsis, key scenes and target audiences.
Definition of Phubbing: Phubbing is a term coined as part of a campaign by Macquarie Dictionary to describe the habit of snubbing someone in favour of a mobile phone.
Resource from : (https://www.google.co.uk/#safe=strict&q=phubbing)
Running time: 5 minutes maximum
As this is a short video with meaning in depth, I would like it to be longer than the usual commercial advertisement, also this timing could allow me to express the meaning that I want to say and it does not bore the audiences.
Synopsis
The synopsis of my video is generally about people nowadays being anti-social and spend
most of the time on their smartphone and social media.
At the beginning I would film a girl and her daily rountine, such as doing her homework, attending to class, chatting with friends, going to bed, reading a book, dinning with her parents etc. One day her parents bought her a smart phone on her birthday, and she started spending all her time with her phone not being aware of the things around her, for example snap chatting her friends infront of the dinning table, texting her friend at class and before she goes to sleep.
one day her parents took her phone away because she is totally addicted to it, she then took and knife and stabbed her parents.
I would film the whole video with the 2nd person's view, it's like a GoPro, or simply with tripod and camera, because some of the scenes do not require a GoPro.

Here is one of the example of how I would like to film my short film.
Here is a video of Phubbing that inspires me, where and how people use their phones, for example laying on the bed, not talking to people, and taking videos or pictures on whatever events there are.
Key Scenes
Basically every scene of the video are key scenes, because they will be very short and fast, and each of them is here for a meaning, I would like to contrast them to show the before and after of the girl having her new smart phone.
But if I have to pick out what the key scenes are, it will be the birthday scene, which Carmen will be spending her birthday with her family and friends. This is a twist in the video, because it is where the main character received a smart phone and changed her daily routine totally, because it becomes her addiction, and in this scene it allows audiences to see the changes, a before & after of the girl, and how it influences it, it also send a message to the audiences, that we should be aware to use our mobile phont wisely.
Target Audience
My target audience is basically everyone who has a smart phone, but mostly teenagers and young adults, because this age range of people are more addicted to phubbing, and we could see them using their phones anywhere anytime.
For example, we can always see people playing with their mobile phones in transports, in the street, at home, or even infront of the dining tables, which is not good because this is a kind of anti-socialing.
