P3(c) Applying Visual Effects and Transitions

P3(c) Applying Visual Effects and Transitions

Meaning: The meaning of applying visual effects and transitions is how effects are created and added to the video, also the effect to the audiences.

Purpose: The purpose of this section is to show how effects are added, why and what do I want to audience to feel base on these effects.

The most effect I have done in my video is "Video Transition", it is an effect that could connect 2 videos together smoothly so it does not look like 2 individual videos but 1 video together. When the 2 videos interacts, this is how it looks with the picture above.

To do this, first I go to the "effect log", which gives me a wide range of varies effect. Then I click " Video Dissolve" > " Dissolve" > "Cross Dissolve". The most effect I use is "Cross Dissolve", because it connects the 2 videos together naturally.

I also used the "Dip to black" at the end of the video to create a more horrible atmosphere, so the audiences could feel the scary consequence of the video, making them remember the moral of the video too.

But sometimes, I would like to control the timing of how long the effect last, so I could go to "Window" > "Effect control".

This log will appear on the effect log, and I could simply shift the purple log between the blue logs, to change control the timing of the effect last on each video. A represents 1 video and B represents the other, which I found very easy to handle and understand.
