P4 Focus Group Screening & Feedback
Meaning: This session is going to be about Film classification and how is it important to us.
I have created a questionnaire for my short video to see how other people rate its age classification, so I could gather opinions to rate the video.
My questions are based on the guidelines on BBFC website, considering the content of my short video, for example the last scene of my video contains violent content, so it might be one of the point that audiences concern about. I have made most of the questions compulsory to answer because these are the questions that identify which classification does it belong to.
BBFC (British Board of Film Classification), this is a the biggest council that classify movies into different classification, and rate them different age groups, this is very important as it protects children or people who has particular disease to watch a movie.
For example, a children at the age of 12 cannot watch horror films as it might damage them mentally and scare them as they do not have the knowledge yet to understand the concept of the movie, or if the movie is too violent, they might learn how the actors do and do it in real life. Also, some people with heart disease might not be able to watch horror films too, because it might be too scary when something pops up the screen, causing them a heart attack.
These are the age rating and symbols of the classifications.
