P3(d) Linking Audio to Visuals and Applying Audio Effects

P3(d) Linking Audio to Visuals and Applying Audio Effects

Meaning: The meaning of Linking audios to visuals and applying audio effects is putting an audio/ music to the video and combine them together. Applying audio effects mean for example enhancing volume or minimising volume of the music, or even adding extra sounds to it to make it special.

Most of my video has sound effect at the back, and I prefer using them as it is easier to handle and my actress could just speak in front of the camera, also my camera is very good in receiving sounds, therefore most of the time I use the audio from the videos.

However, I assign them to different bars, especially the ones that require muting, because I could just simply press the "mute" button at the beginning of the bar, so all the audios from that bar will be muted. I have to do so because some of the video I would like to apply a sound effect to it, or I simply do not like that audio to be heard by the audiences due to a wrong verse.

For the sound effect, I need 2 special sound effects from the internet: The texting sound effect at the beginning and the dropping fork sound effect at the end, I have to download these sound effects from the internet, because it is very hard for me to record them as the quality of these sound effects do not sound the same as I expected, and I also do not like it while I film it myself.

Therefore, I went to "Freesound", this is a website where I could download free sound effects without getting permission and without crossing over the law.

I downloaded 2 sound effects, one is the texting sound effect and the other is the dropping glass effect.

After downloading them, I import them into the Adobe Premium Pro, and rename them.

And I just have to simply drag these sound effects to the audio bar.

Then I go to "window" > "effect control", because I need to adjust the volume of the clips, some of them I would like them to be louder, while some of them will be better with lower volume.

Then this will appear in the effect bar, I could simply drag the button up or low to adjust the volume. It is very important to do so as it sublimates the video with different volume, making the audiences feel more dimension and feeling towards the video, also when the video is louder it might suggest to the audiences that this part is the climax of the whole video, while sometimes when the video is low in volume, it is the part that requires attention from the audiences.
