P2(a) Setting up equipment 

Meaning: The meaning of setting up equipment is what equipment is used in the project, why effect do they produce, and why are they useful. 

Purpose: The purpose for this section is to show the people which equipment did I use for my project, the reason of using them, and also what kind of effect do they produce for my project.

I used Canon 7D DSLR for both my filming and shooting. This camera is very productive for this project, because it has a wide range of shots, it allows me to shoot close ups, medium shots or even long shots. It is a professional camera, with good color tone and capture very clear images. This camera also allow me to set up the Aperture, ISO, and the brightness of the picture, which is useful for students who study media and photography. It is not very big in size comparing to other cameras, which is easy to handle and bring.

This is a screenshot from the video, filmed by Canon 7D DSLR. We can see that the picture is very clear, and we can see all the details in the background, and her actions and movements. Also, from the video, it also records the actor's voice very clearly, that could allow the audiences to hear what she was saying and doing at the same time, also save me from editing too much on emphasising her action and voice. 

I also used the camera tripod in my project. The tripod allows me to take picture steadily, it also has a stick to control the angle of the camera, which is very useful for me to take shots horizontally or vertically. It has has so locks on the leg of the tripod, it is for setting the height of the tripod, so it is very easy to secure the camera in different height, which allows me to take nice images from different height. Also, I can pictures in a steeper gradient because I can also set the tripod with one leg higher and 2 legs lower, therefore the camera may face up or down, which is a very useful tool for filming videos and photo shooting. 

This is a screenshot from the video of my project. Using the tripod, I do not have to hold the camera with my hands, so the picture is steady, also I could film her from different angle and different height, as the tripod allows me to set it high or low, or film her to the left or to the right, because the tripod has a handle which allows me to turn the camera into different direction without taking blurry shots, therefore, the tripod is very essential in my project. 

Although the camera is the main equipment of the project, the lens are very important also. Different lens give different effects to the photo, for example I have used 2 kinds of lens for my project. One of them allows me capture or film in a general angle, while the other one allows me to capture or film long shots. 

This is a screenshot from my video, we can see from this screenshot, that the frame is really wide, we can see all the things that surround the actress. This is also the reason why I have chosen this wide lens, because the aim of my video is to focus on the actress, however at the same time, I would like the audiences to see things around her, so to understand where is she in, who is she with, and also what she is doing. For example from this screenshot, we can obviously see that the actress is walking to school and watching the views.
